The work

Four stages between bar stock and a knife you'll hand down

01

Forge

Bar stock goes into the coal. The blade is moved to shape under the hammer — not ground out of a flat bar.

02

Grind

Bevels cut in by hand on the belt. This is where the geometry that decides how a knife cuts gets set.

03

Heat treat

Normalized, quenched, tempered. Every blade is taken to hardness and tested before it earns a handle.

04

Finish

Handle fitted, edge taken to shaving sharp, sheath fitted to the blade it carries, and a signed certificate made out for it.

Most of what leaves this shop was built for one person and one job. Start with how you'll use it — steel, length, and handle follow from there. We'll talk through the type of blade and the price together, and custom work is running about 3–4 weeks to delivery right now.
